Welcome to Week 3 of the DFS fantasy outlook. I look forward to helping you along your roster process and have created a great list of names that will be key players on the field and in your lineups! With so many injuries last weekend to key Rbs, this week, cheap Rbs will be prime for your lineup construction to maximize value at all of your positions.
Marcus Mariota (QB) – DraftKings: $5,900, FanDuel: $7,700 – Tennessee Titans
Prior to the Thursday Night Football game, the Oakland Raiders DEF had allowed the most passing yards in the NFL, and it’s not even close. The Raiders have allowed a whopping 808 yards through the air in just two games this season. While I don’t expect Mariota to throw for 400+ yards, I definitely see a high scoring game that could very well end up in a shoot out with these two defenses. Mariota will need to put the team on his back if the Titans are going to stay close to this up-tempo Raiders offense. I’m expecting big days from Mariota, Delanie Walker (TE), Tajae Sharpe (WR), and evenDemarco Murray (RB). His price is extremely cheap, and on a Sunday where the highest Vegas total is sitting at 47.5, between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers, I love stacking the Raiders and Titans who are at a 46.5 Vegas total.
Theo Riddick (RB) – DraftKings: $4,900, FanDuel: $6,400 – Detroit Lions
Speaking of the Lions and Packers top Vegas total for Sunday’s games, Theo Riddick is a must-play for me, and should be for you too! Fellow RB Ameer Abdullah was placed on IR this week opening up even more snaps for a player that has 18 rushes and nine catches over the first two games of the season. I am expecting the Packers offence to wake up in this game finally and this means lots of catch up air-ball from Matt Stafford. I can see Riddick getting over 20 touches in this contest with upwards of 7-8 catches. The stars are aligning for a fantastic Sunday for Riddick. For myself, a mini-Lions stack of Riddick and Marvin Jones (WR) could be a great recipe for success on Sunday.
Jarvis Landry (WR) – DraftKings: $6,600, FanDuel: $7,000 – Miami Dolphins
Jarvis Landry is well-known as a PPR machine and his 17 receptions through the first two weeks shouldn’t surprise anyone, but yet, 17 receptions in two weeks is still something great to see. Landry and the Dolphins will be without starting RB Arian Foster, who shockingly, sarcasm, is injured. This opens up the door for a new RB, but also the fact that Tannehill could simply use his favourite WR Landry for a couple extra targets to move the chains. Landry faces a Cleveland Browns DEF that has allowed 47 receptions and 580 yards through the air in the first two games of the season. Landry will feast in this matchup.
Dennis Pitta (TE) – DraftKings: $3,400, FanDuel: $5,000 – Baltimore Ravens
Dennis Pitta is almost as cheap as they come for starting TE across the fantasy industry, but can return an amazing value against the Jacksonville Jaguars. While the Jaguars haven’t allowed all that much on the passing side of things, it’s primarily because of their inability to obtain a lead. In both games the Jaguars fell behind and therefor allowing teams to simply rush the ball to kill clock. Pitta was actually a sleeper of mine last week and came up big with nine receptions on 12 targets for 102 yards. A massive performance from a player who has had productive seasons at TE for the Ravens in the past. In 2012, his last full season, Pitta had 61 receptions for 669 yards and 7 touchdowns. He should be able to pick up where he left off and return great value for a near minimum priced player.
Charles Sims (RB) – DraftKings: $4,900, FanDuel: $6,300 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Another RB you need to target this Sunday is Charles Sims. He will be taking over top-dog duties for the Buccaneers this Sunday as RB Doug Martin will be out with an injury. Sims is known for his great hands and they were on display last season racking in 51 receptions for 561 yards. His 4.9 yards per carry is also a fantastic number which has me smiling as I staple him in to my DFS lineups. He should easily get upwards of 20 touches in a game against the Los Angeles Rams who allowed Carlos Hyde to feast in Week 1.
Allen Robinson (WR) – DraftKings: $7,500, FanDuel: $7,900 – Jacksonville Jaguars
The Baltimore Ravens may have had the easiest first two weeks of the NFL season. They have faced Buffalo and Cleveland and are currently 2-0 on the season. Not much of a surprise to anyone. While the Jaguars DEF was suppose to be improved this season with rookies and other acquisitions, that simply has not been the case. This game is one of the highest totals of Sunday and I am loving the breakout ability for Robinson. He is the number one receiver on a team that plays from behind on such a regular basis. While he managed only three catches for 54 yards on five targets last week, I see those totals being doubled, at least! Robinson should be upwards of 7-8 catches on 10+ targets and I see him finding pay dirt for the first time this season!
Eli Manning (QB) – DraftKings: $7,000, FanDuel: $7,700 – New York Giants
I have no problem admitting the giant whiff I had on Eli Manning last week as he simply underwhelmed in every way, shape, and form. Manning could easily go overlooked by DFS players who were burned lat week is a prime matchup at home against the New Orleans Saints. I love buying in one a guy post-one-week-crapper. He has done very well against the Redskins in the past and I can see him and Odell Beckham Jr teaming up to take on Josh Norman. Manning comes in at a very discounted price as I could see him as a top five priced player if he had gone off last weekend like he was supposed to!
Stefon Diggs (WR) – DraftKings: $5,100, FanDuel: $6,400 – Minnesota Vikings
I have a feeling that he may be more owned than usual simply because of his amazing game on Sunday Night Football. While this could be true, the fact of the matter is that the Vikings lost RB Adrian Peterson for possibly the season on Sunday and the Carolina Panthers are showing one of the most potent offences in the league after the first two weeks. Put those two together and you get a Vikings team that will be forced to throw plenty and Diggs a top WR who is showing great chemistry after just one week with QB Sam Bradford.
Miami Dolphins DEF – DraftKings: $3,000, FanDuel: $4,800
I know that this DEF may not be necessarily under the radar by any means, but incase you didn’t know, the Cleveland Browns are already down to their third string rookie QB, and will be also without rookie star WR Corey Coleman after breaking his hands in practice this week. All signs point to a advantageous day for a Dolphins DEF that has been decent in the first two games of the season.
