Phillies Turn Triple Play Against Padres

Written by: Brett J. Pietrzak – Vice President (@GrandstandBJP)

On a hot Sunday in San Diego, the lackluster Phillies were able to turn a triple play against and offensively-anemic Padres team.

The Phillies found themselves in  tough spot with the bases loaded, but excellent pitching by Edubray Ramos quelled the Padres’ efforts. The play was as “textbook” as it could be for such a rare feat. The grounder was snared by Maikel Franco, who promptly fired it to second, and over to first.

In reality, this is nice, but both of these teams are still about as entertaining to watch as collegiate field hockey. That being said, history is history, so why not watch?
